Refund policy

The short version: if you have not used it, you can have your money back within three days, no questions asked. If Shorts have already been rendered, the work has been done and we cannot undo it. If something we made was broken, that is our problem and the three days do not apply.

The policy in one table

Unused, within 3 days
Full refund, no questions asked
Shorts already rendered
Not refundable, the compute is spent
Faulty output
Fixed, re-rendered or refunded, any time
Charged by mistake
Refunded, whatever the date

Why the line is drawn at usage rather than time

Most refund policies are written around a calendar because a calendar is easy to administer. Ours is written around whether the thing you paid for has been delivered, because that is the honest question, and the calendar is only there as a backstop.

Every Short costs us real money at the moment it is made. The source has to be fetched, the audio transcribed, the footage sampled to work out where the subject sits, and a video encoded on a machine we rent by the hour. None of that is recoverable once it has run. It is not like a downloadable file where a refund costs the seller nothing.

So the rule is simple and it cuts both ways. Bought a plan and changed your mind before using it? That has cost us nothing, and keeping your money would be indefensible. Made twenty Shorts and then asked for a refund? The work was done, delivered, and is sitting on your hard drive.

You should never pay for something you did not use. You should also not expect a refund on something you used.

How to request one

There is no form and no cancellation flow designed to wear you down. One email does it.

We action refunds the same day we read the request. After that the timing belongs to your payment provider, which for a card is normally three to five working days.

When we refund outside the three days

The three day window is a floor, not a ceiling. There are situations where we will refund regardless of how long ago you paid, and we would rather write them down than have you wonder.

01

The tool produced something broken

Framing that cut the speaker out, captions badly out of sync, a corrupt export, a render that never completed. If we shipped you something faulty, you get it fixed or you get your money back, and the date is irrelevant.

02

A renewal you did not intend

A subscription renewed, you had not used the new period, and you meant to cancel. Write to us. An unused month taken from somebody who forgot is not revenue we want.

03

You were charged twice

Duplicate charges are refunded immediately and without discussion. If you spot one before we do, telling us speeds it up.

04

The service was down when you needed it

If an outage on our side stopped you using something you had paid for, that period is ours to make good, whether by extending the plan or refunding it. Your choice.

Try it before you pay

The best refund policy is not needing one. Your first Short is free and requires no account, precisely so you can judge the quality of the framing, the captions and the export before any money changes hands. If the output is not right for your footage, you will know in two minutes rather than after a purchase.

The free tier has real limits, a length cap and a watermark, but the pipeline is the same one paying users get. What you see is what you would be buying.

Questions people ask

Can I get a refund on Vid2Shorts?
Yes, if you have not used the plan. Any purchase is fully refundable within three days of payment as long as no Shorts have been rendered on it. No form, no justification, no retention call. Email info@vid2shorts.com from the address you paid with and it is done.
Why is a rendered Short not refundable?
Because rendering is where the cost sits. Every Short means fetching the source, transcribing the audio, analysing the footage for framing, and encoding a video on our servers. That compute is spent the moment you press export and it cannot be returned. Refunding used renders would mean the free tier funds people who took the paid output and asked for their money back.
What if the Short came out broken?
That is a different situation entirely and it is not covered by the three day rule. If the tool produced something faulty, whether the framing cut somebody out, the captions were mistimed, or the export failed, tell us and we will either fix it, re-render it, or refund it. A broken render is our problem regardless of how long ago you paid.
How long does a refund take to arrive?
We action it the same day we read the request. After that it is your payment provider’s timetable, which is usually three to five working days for a card and faster for most other methods.
Do I lose access immediately when I request a refund?
Yes. A refunded plan is closed at the same time the money goes back, because the alternative is refunding a plan somebody is still using. If you would rather keep access until the period ends, say so and we will time it that way instead.
What about a subscription I forgot to cancel?
If a renewal charged you and you have not used the new period, write to us. We would rather return the money than keep it from somebody who did not intend to pay, and we do not think an unused month is a win.
